beginnings
This is the first day of the rest of my life. It’s also my first day working out of this new office across from the University of Saskatchewan. You can almost smell the river from here, along with the heady stench of my fabulously misspent undergrad years.
I’m self-employed now. I left the corporation that was underpaying me and spreading me too thin. I’m grateful for what I learned at that job, but leaving it for something new was awfully satisfying.
I know it’s November, but I have that delicious first-day-of-school feeling: freshly sharpened pencils and no mistakes yet. It’s a feeling that can’t last, so I’m going to stop typing now, and just soak it in.
