words, words, words
One of the best ways to resolve our emotions is by talking about them. We need these things:
We need the words to use.
Even some grownups can’t say what they’re feeling. What a disaster.
Look up “emotional vocabulary” to find lists of feelings words. Give yourself as many words as you need.
You might need more than one word at a time: mixed emotions are a real thing!
We need someone to use the words with.
Talking to yourself can help, but it’s better to have someone else listening.
We need people around us who talk about their own feelings.
We can set a good example for each other.
